1. An accredited program earns additional professional credibility among its peers and the public by agreeing to meet the standards of a national oversight organization. The program will be able to include the logo: “Accredited by the NSBTM” on advertisements, websites and brochures.
2. Accreditation by the NSBTM may be advantageous when applying for grants and other sources of funding.
3. An accredited program will be able to advertise their Continuing Education Unit (CEU) events on the Board’s webpage, and also benefit from CEU events offered by other accredited programs.
4. Representatives from an accredited program will have the opportunity to hold office on the Board, its committees and the Representative Council. This will promote the participation in all processes related to the common goal of maintaining high standards for therapeutic musicians.
5. Accredited programs become part of a network of organizations that share information about research, health care advances, ethics and program expertise.
6. Graduate listings of accredited programs can be accessed through a link at the NSBTM site.
1. Graduates of an accredited program will benefit from information provided by the NSBTM about job placements.
2. The NSBTM will serve as source of information for Professional Liability Insurance.
3. As a not-for-profit organization, the NSBTM will be able to offer opportunities to its members, both accredited and affiliate.
4. Accredited programs will benefit from current information related to the field of Therapeutic Music that will be published by the NSBTM.
