#1 - Developing Unconditional Presence as a Therapeutic Musician: In this practical workshop, we'll learn about the work with specific techniques that enhance our ability to be fully present to our patients. These will include: 1) Looking more deeply into our practice of Unitative Listening, especially in relationships to resonance and entrainment; 2) Learning the Coherence technique developed by the HeartMath Institute and the underlying science behind it in relationship our music. We will work with the EMwave biofeed back tool and learn how to reach physiological coherence while playing and singing, as well as experimenting with bringing our patients into coherence; 3) Exploring the Ah Breath technique developed by Stephen & Ondrea Levine which will enhance your understanding of the breath and enhance your ability to work with your patient's breath musically.
#2 - Enhancing Your Therapeutic Presence with Your Voice: Learn and experience; 1) Why the voice is a vehicle that can intensify the possibility for greater intimacy and healing as you serve the patients; 2) How therapeutic singing differs from "performance" singing; 3) Opening-up possibilities for improvisation on your instrument; 4) Wordless singing: working with chant melody and intention; 5) Experiencing the therapeutic aspects of the intervals.

Date: Friday, November 4 (4:30 p.m.) through Sunday, November 6, 2011 (6:00 p.m.)
Instructors: Sarajane Williams, M.A., Licensed Psychologist, Linda Bloom, R.N., B.S.N.
Course Objectives:
* To become familiar with the vibrational medicine paradigm
* To develop a working, professional knowledge base and vocabulary for vibroacoustic harp therapy (VAHT)
* To become familiar with the use of VAHT equipment
* To experience the “hands on” implementation of VAHT, and to gain experiential insight in preparation for offering or supervising VAHT.
Eligibility Requirements: This intensive course is being offered to harpist-graduates of therapeutic music training programs, licensed health care professionals (i.e. nurses, doctors, chiropractors, psychologists, music therapists) and health care administrators who will supervise vibroacoustic harp therapists. A completed application form must be approved for acceptance into the course.
Preparatory Studies: Good Vibrations: Principles of Vibroacoustic Harp Therapy (book) and Therapeutic
Harp: ancient legacy, sound science, clinical applications (3-DVD set) by Sarajane Williams
What's included: Friday & Saturday night accommodations (private room) and 2 breakfasts at the
Hawthorn Suites Hotel, Fogelsville, PA (www.hawthorn.com); course materials and use of equipment; dinner and beverages at welcome reception, lunches and breaks; local transportation to and from Hawthorn Suites, Planet Harp and Lehigh Valley International airport.
